Our Vision
At the Busch Lab, we seek to unravel the biological mechanisms underlying photosynthesis and plant water use, advancing our understanding of how plants function in diverse environments. By combining experimental and modelling approaches, we explore key physiological processes such as gas exchange, mesophyll conductance, respiration, and photosynthetic limitations. Our research contributes to fundamental plant science and informs strategies to improve crop efficiency, enhance ecosystem resilience, and guide policies on food security and environmental sustainability. Whether in academia, industry, or policymaking, we aim to equip the next generation of scientists with the expertise to tackle pressing global challenges through innovative plant physiology research.
